Xfinity and Cxmmunity Partners for The Kickback Tour

Comcast’s broadband services division will lends support for the tour in 2024, aimed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Cxmmunity Media and broadband service provider Xfinity announced this week that they have inked a strategic partnership to support ”The Kickback,” an entertainment, media, and educational platform owned by Cxmmunity.

Financial terms of this deal were not disclosed.

Under the terms of this strategic partnership, Xfinity will help The Kickback create “opportunities within the gaming and esports communities” during the 2024 Kickback Tour, with a focus on “empowering the next generation of students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs),” according to a release.

This tour—taking place over the next several months—will include on-campus educational panels, gaming events, and musical performances, among other activities. The tour will make stops at Dream Con in Texas in July, Washington D.C in September, and Atlanta in December.

This partnership is being facilitated through Project UP, Xfinity owner Comcast’s $1B USD initiative to “digital equity and economic mobility.” The partnership also extends support to the Cxmmunity Foundation, “the mission-led non-profit arm of Cxmmunity Media.”

In case you are not familiar with Cxmmunity, it operates the HBCU Esports League, a collegiate esports tournament series aimed at HBCUs in the United States.
